What is a skatepark project?

A skatepark project is a group of volunteers who take the responsibility of advocating for a safe and legal skateboarding park in a community.

We hope to help several communities in northern Virginia by giving skatepark groups greater opportunities to develop a skatepark. Our goal is to expand the organization by creating and adopting skatepark projects. We plan to eventually become an umbrella-style organization that will provide a vast amount of resources for these groups.

Sterling Project

Our Sterling skatepark project began in 2006 and is currently our only project.

Help Your Community

There's most likely dozens of skaters - young and old - living in your community that are in desperate need of a safe and legal place to skateboard. Beginning an advocacy group like this can be very time-consuming and labor-intensive - as we've experienced firsthand ourselves. This is the very reason why we encourage skatepark groups to be apart of LCSP. Dozens of resources are now available for interested groups to utilize including website space for promotion and contacts for skatepark experts, volunteers, event venues, and more.

Contact us if you are interested in beginning a skatepark project with us or getting involved with a current project.

A skatepark for your friends, kids, and neighbors WILL be worth the effort.
