Skatepark Construction Begins at Trailside Park

We just received this update on the Herndon Skatepark:
Construction preparations for the skate park at Trailside Park have begun!
“Moving dirt” and construction should begin in earnest this week. The skate park should be done in late summer or early fall, obviously affected by the weather. Ruby Suns and Skateboarding

Last month I discovered the band 'Ruby Suns' and I can not tell you how obsessed I have been with their music. Their afro-experimental beats and hyponotizing voices makes you want to dance until you drop.
I stumbled upon this awesome video today by Sam Kristofski featuring, none other than the awesome Ruby Suns with their catchy song 'Dusty Fruit'

Herndon Skatepark Update

We recently received an email from Cynthia Hoftiezer, Recreation Project Coordinator at Town of Herndon Parks & Recreation Dept. that reads:
"The project is now out for bid for a skate park construction firm. The deadline for bids is the end of April. We anticipate award of contract by Town Council in late May/early June. Construction should begin in late June."
